MillForce
Force-based feed rate optimization. MillForce reads the cutting load along your toolpath and adjusts the feed to keep the chip load constant—shorter cycles, longer tool life, better finish.
- Estimates cutting forces from geometry, tool, and material
- Speeds up in light cuts and eases off in heavy engagement
- Keeps chip load in the sweet spot across the whole path
- Optimizes G-code from MillX or from other CAM software
- No dynamometer, sensors, or machine retrofit required
Results depend on machine, material, and tooling. Always validate with a test cut.
Why it helps
Fixed feed rates are a compromise. MillForce removes it.
Less cycle time
Push the feed where the cut is light instead of running the whole job at the worst-case rate.
Longer tool life
Avoiding force spikes reduces chipping and wear, so cutters last more jobs.
Better finish
Consistent engagement means consistent deflection—and a cleaner surface.
At a glance
| Method | Force-based adaptive feed rate optimization |
|---|---|
| Input | G-code from MillX or third-party CAM |
| Goal | Constant chip load / controlled cutting force |
| Hardware | None required — purely software, pre-machining |
| Best for | 3-axis roughing in wood, plastics, aluminium, composites |
| Platform | Any modern browser — Windows, macOS, Linux, tablets |

MillForce is under development. It will analyze a G-code program line by line, estimate cutting forces per segment and suggest optimized feeds. Documentation will be added on release.
💡 Keep your MillX G-code files: MillForce will accept them directly for force analysis.
